Various Effects

Note:

Pharmacist Effect

Named after Dan Schneider, the pharmacist featured in the Netflix documentary “The Pharmacist.” He meticulously documented everything to solve his son’s murder case and expose the opioid crisis. The lesson: thorough documentation is a powerful tool for achieving your goals.

T2 Effect (Thallu Thallu Effect)

Inspired by Vadivelu’s comedy in ABCD Movie. Describes team members who appear busy among their peers but produce no actual work. Identifying these individuals and providing proper training is essential for improving team productivity.

Ohio Effect

Based on a case study from “Influence - The Psychology of Persuasion.” In Ohio, authorities announced they would publish names in the newspaper of residents who supported emissions reduction by using a government-recommended product. Despite never following through on the publication promise, people still supported the initiative. This demonstrates the power of public commitment and social accountability.

SICA Effect

A comparative study initiated by Raja CSP and Vlad Steiman exploring similarities between South Indians and Canadians. Their research revealed striking parallels in critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptive learning, and modernized thinking. The ongoing study aims to formally document these cross-cultural similarities, with publication expected in 2021.

American Oil Effect

“Make Hay while the Sun Shines” mentality. When Texas discovered oil, they deployed 4 parallel teams working simultaneously to extract as much oil as possible, as if the world would end tomorrow. This aggressive extraction strategy ironically caused oil prices to drop due to oversupply.

Taha Effect

When a serious discussion is underway, someone interrupts by asking a completely unrelated question (often humorous), derailing the conversation’s focus.
